Our Shared Reading Group is back for 2023 starting on Tuesday 10th January. It takes place every Tuesday at The Station Master’s House from 2.00 – 3.30pm and is free of charge. Made some New Year resolutions to read more, why not join us to find out what it’s all about?

Shared Reading brings people of all ages and backgrounds together through the enjoyment of listening to a short story, poem or extract from a novel being read aloud. Groups meet through national charity The Reader, which was launched more than a decade ago in Birkenhead.

The group enjoy a wide variety of texts, both classics and modern, pausing along the way to talk about what we’ve read and share any thoughts around it. There is no pressure on anyone to read aloud or to speak, you are welcome to just relax and listen.

If you would like to come along or to find out more, please contact Judith at: judireading@btinternet.com or enquire at the library. There is no charge for coming to the group. You can also find more about shared reading on The Reader website: www.thereader.org.uk.
