Accessing the Station Master’s House

We are easily accessible to visitors with a fully accessible lift and toilet. We are located right next to Merseyrail Birkdale station and bus routes, 15, X2, 2, 49.

In the library itself, if a book you want is difficult to reach, being too high or too low on the shelves, ask a Volunteer for assistance, they will be happy to get the book for you

When the plans were being made to convert the building into a hub and library we placed particular emphasis on enabling everyone to use all areas.  To achieve maximum access throughout the building we:

• widened the front door and fitted an automatic opener
• opened up the whole downstairs space for easy access
• created a disabled toilet downstairs
• installed a lift to the upper floor for wheelchair transport
• installed multi-level desking in the computer suite.
