Accessibility at the Station Master’s House
The Station Master’s House is a fully accessible building, located in the heart of Birkdale Village. There is step free access to the front entrance and lift access to all public floors. The ground floor also has wide archways, allowing for wheelchair access from front to back.
Additionally, there is a disabled toilet, with baby changing facilities.
Our library system has been designed with accessibility in mind and is fully compatible with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. This includes the library catalogue, which can be read by screen readers.
In addition to this our upstairs computer room, which is available to members, has an electronic height adjustable workstation.
In the library itself, if a book you want is difficult to reach, being too high or too low on the shelves, ask a Volunteer for assistance, they will be happy to get the book for you
