We are delighted to confirm our headline event with Benjamin Wood who grew up in Southport and is the award winning author of Seascraper. The novel was longlisted for the Booker Prize and won the fiction category of the 2025 Nero Book Award. It tells the story of Thomas, a shrimper with dreams of becoming a musician but is trapped by class and the ghosts of his family’s past. The work has been described as lyrical, poetic and haunting.
