Billions of photographs have been taken since the invention of the art form. But a small number have become hugely famous because of what they show, and what they tell us about events and people.
What are often overlooked are the extraordinary stories behind some of these images. David Hearn is fascinated by this subject and will be sure to make us view these photographs with a new understanding. Famous but distressing images will not be part of his selection.
