We’re very pleased to announce that The Station Master’s House has won the “Most Enhanced Railway Space” Award sponsored by Greater Anglia rail, at this year’s Community Rail Awards ceremony. Birkdale Community Hub & Library was recognised for their incredible work transforming part of Birkdale station into a community library and hub. Merseyrail representatives accepted the award on behalf of BCHL at the event.
The judges praised the renovation for re-imagining the station space in a way that is welcoming, inclusive and genuinely useful to the local community.
They noted that the project is a great example of what can be achieved when passionate volunteers, community partners and the railway work together
