Our website has been redesigned in preparation for the opening of the library for click-and-collect when this is possible, and of course full opening later in the year. We hope you like the new colour scheme and layout which we feel is cleaner and easier on the eye. The library link in the header section will indeed let you browse out library stock, but unfortunately not yet reserve any books for collection until it is safe to do so. We hope you are all keeping safe during the festive period. We have been working hard so here's a quick update on progress at the Station Master's House, The very extensive House renovations are complete and the building now looks very smart with new carpets. It has been painted and decorated, and is now being equipped. The House has large library area downstairs, with a small kitchenette and disabled toilet at the rear. The small outside courtyard has largely not been touched...
As you can see from the recent photos below real progress is being made in the Station Masters House. All the hard work and planning is reaping results and the house is now taking shape. The carpet upstairs has been fitted and once all the bookshelves have been built, fitted and varnished then the remaining carpet can be fitted on the stairs and downstairs rooms. As you can see when compared to previous photographs slow but steady progress is being made to the internal renovations. It has been difficult during the lockdown but the builders have observed social distancing at all times with only one person often working in the house. Now that the plastering is almost complete the second fit electrics will be installed. The bookshelves will be built onto the walls to ensure safety. We currently need more help in the following IT areas,
– PC, network and software (Win10/Office 365) support. We do not currently use file servers but experience of basic shared cloud file storage (eg Dropbox) would be useful
– WordPress development and hosted email support.
