DESCRIPTION:Want to learn how to read Ordnance Survey symbols or how to plan your walks safely?\nThen join a free\, enjoyable and informative map reading course at the library on Tuesday 10th March at 2pm. \nWe will have a selection of OS maps for you to use but if you have one of the local area\, please bring it with you. Also\, if possible\, please bring a compass preferably with a large plastic base plate c/w 1:50 and 1:25 scale on it.\nWhat you need to do in advance: \n\n\n 	Download free from the Ordnance Survey website the explanatory leaflet entitled “Map Reading – from beginners to advanced map readers.”

DESCRIPTION:Shared reading \nShared Reading brings people of all ages and backgrounds together through the enjoyment of listening to a short story\, poem or extract from a novel being read aloud. Groups meet through national charity The Reader\, which was launched more than a decade ago in Birkenhead. \nWe enjoy a wide variety of texts\, both classics and modern\, pausing along the way to talk about what we’ve read and share any thoughts around it. There is no pressure on anyone to read aloud or to speak\, you are welcome to just relax and listen. \nIf you would like to come along or to find out more\, please contact Judith at: judireading@btinternet.com or enquire at the library. We meet on Tuesday afternoons from 2 – 3.30pm. There is no charge for coming to the group. You can also find more about shared reading on The Reader website: www.thereader.org.uk.
